Although spring and fall tend to be the most popular seasons for selling a home, that doesn’t mean you can’t make a summer sale work to your advantage. Especially in Florida, where it feels like summer most of the year anyway, it’s important to have a few seasonal showing tips in your back pocket.
Check out our favorite summer showing tips below that will have you closing and settled into your new home by the fall!
1) Keep your house cool.
A hot, stuffy house is not one where buyers tend to linger. Before visitors arrive for a showing, make sure the house is cooled down and air is flowing. Turn on your central air or window units (but not so cold your fingers turn to ice) and a few fans to help that cool air circulate.
2) Be flexible with your schedule.
Summer home buyers will be taking advantage of the long days and plentiful hours of sunlight, so you should be too! Schedule showings into the evening so you can accommodate more buyers and nail down a sale that much faster.
3) Make your home feel like summer.
A lot of the natural elements of summer can be incorporated in your space to make it warmer, brighter, and more inviting to potential buyers. Ahead of each showing, open the blinds or windows to bathe your home in natural light and add a few fresh summer blooms around the house. Don’t forget to stay on top of your curb appeal and stage your outdoor spaces too, to help summer buyers better imagine themselves soaking up the sun and enjoying the gorgeous weather on your property.
4) Offer refreshments.
Again, it’s important to take extra measures to keep buyers comfortable during summer real estate showings. Providing refreshments to keep them cool is a nice, welcoming touch that will make you stand out among the competition. Bottles of cold water, lemonade, fresh fruit, and other summery snacks will go a long way.
